2008 Race
Information
The date
for the 2008 Greenhill / Luke's Locker Six Mile Relay has been set
-- August 30, 2008. The relay meet has served as the kick off meet
for many north Texas schools for the past 23 years. This year's
edition, once again held at Norbuck Park in Dallas, Texas, promises
to be better than ever! The 6 Mile Relay is a unique event because
of our exciting format (4 x 1.5 mile relay), the challenging course
(includes hay bales!), our participation levels (12 races and 1600
runners!), our awards (5 deep for each race) and the amazing support
we get from our meet sponsors (Asics and Luke's Locker). The help
and support of Luke's Locker and Asics is invaluable in making this
a successful event.
The elite boys team from Cedar Parkand the elite girls team from The Woodlands led the way over the hay bales at Norbuck Park in 2007 and
both squads will look to defend their elite division titles this
fall! The Frisco Centennial boys and The Woodlands girls won the 5A/4A varsity race, along
with the Trinity Valley boys and Kinkaid girls in the 3A and under
varsity race.
Packets for the 2008 meet will be sent out in late July. If you have
any questions about this year's meet or about future relays, please
contact Greenhill cross country coach Mike Krueger at (972) 628-5639
or kruegerm@greenhill.org

About the
Six-Mile Relay
SPONSORS AND DIVISIONS
We are very fortunate to have Luke’s Locker and Asics serving
as our meet sponsors for the seventh straight year. We have
attempted to continue upgrading the meet while at the same
time making this an enjoyable experience for all participants.
Last
year, we had 80 schools participate including a large number
of 2A-3A teams and more than 1700 runners. This year we will
again have an “ELITE DIVISION” with the hope of attracting
some of the top programs in the state of Texas and surrounding
areas.
To
increase participation levels we will run two separate Junior
Varsity races – an “A” race (two teams per school) and a “B”
race (unlimited entries per school). Finally, due to the heat,
we will actually have 2 (1 ˝ mile) courses so the 10 races can
finish before it gets too hot. |
