During 1st Grade Library time, the librarian reads aloud from a wide assortment of literary genres to help foster a love for literature. Students discuss the arrangement of books and how to care for them. Students also select and check out a book.

During 2nd Grade Library time, the librarian reads aloud from a wide assortment of literary genres to help foster a love for literature and to develop good listening skills.  Students review the arrangement of books and how to care for them. Second graders learn to use the automated catalog to search for books.  Children are strongly encouraged to choose books that they can read themselves.

During 3rd Grade Library time, the librarian reads aloud from the Bluebonnet List, and students vote on a winner. Students also review the arrangement of books in the library and work on search and retrieval techniques, among other skills.  Silent reading is part of the schedule.  Children are strongly encouraged to choose books they can read themselves.
