9th graders must take one trimester of
Classroom Wellness
and one trimester of
General Physical Education or
Specific Physical
Education.
Wellness focuses on physically and socially relevant topics and
sensitive life decisions students face as maturing adolescents.
Students gain a strong sense of self-awareness and personal
growth as they develop sensitivity and respect for others’
views.
In General Physical
Education students work on physical skills and fitness. The
program offers various options to help students find a fitness
activity they enjoy and will continue to pursue. Students in a
Specific Physical
Education class concentrate on one activity.
Options include:
Beginning & Intermediate Dance Class;
Ultimate Frisbee; Workout Challenge;
Aquatics;
Yoga;
Taiji;
Principles of Strength;
Lifeguard Training/Re-certification; Total Body
Fitness; Advanced
Dance Class;
Musical Dance Class; Greenhill Dance
Company; and
Turbokick!.
Participation on any
Greenhill Interscholastic Athletics Team counts as 1 term of
General Physical Education or Specific Physical Education.
Interscholastic
Athletics teams compete in the following sports:
Football (B),
Cross-Country (B,G),
Volleyball (B,G), Field
Hockey (G), Basketball
(B,G), Soccer (B,G),
Swimming (B,G),

All sophomores, juniors, and seniors take two terms of either
General Physical Education (see above) or Specific Physical
Education.
Participation on any Greenhill Interscholastic Athletics Team
will count as 1 term of General Physical Education.
Students in a Specific Physical Education class concentrate on
