9th graders must take one trimester of Classroom Wellness and one trimester of General Physical Education or Specific Physical Education.

Wellness focuses on physically and socially relevant topics and sensitive life decisions students face as maturing adolescents. Students gain a strong sense of self-awareness and personal growth as they develop sensitivity and respect for others’ views.

In General Physical Education students work on physical skills and fitness. The program offers various options to help students find a fitness activity they enjoy and will continue to pursue. Students in a Specific Physical Education class concentrate on one activity.

Options include: Beginning & Intermediate Dance Class; Ultimate Frisbee; Workout Challenge; Aquatics; Yoga; Taiji; Principles of Strength; Lifeguard Training/Re-certification; Total Body Fitness; Advanced Dance Class; Musical Dance Class; Greenhill Dance Company; and Turbokick!.

Participation on any Greenhill Interscholastic Athletics Team counts as 1 term of General Physical Education or Specific Physical Education.
