Despite falling behind to
Fort Worth Country Day early in the game, the Greenhill
varsity baseball team was able to tie the score 7-7 in the
5th inning, thanks to senior Billy Powell's second grand
slam of the season.
After the Hornets took a
one-run lead in the top of the 7th inning, the game seemed
to be wrapped up when Greenhill junior Josh Freeman made a
game-saving diving catch in centerfield with two outs and
the bases loaded. FWCD received a friendly home-field call
as the umpire called that the ball had been trapped,
despite the objections from both benches and the crowd,
allowing the tying and winning runs to score for the
Falcons.
