SPC
roundup: Greenhill sweeps track titles
05/05/2001
From Dallas Morning News Staff Reports
Greenhill used its home-track advantage to sweep both boys
and girls team divisions in the SPC Spring Sports Competition
on Friday.
The boys, who had fought back and forth with St. Mark's all
day long, clinched the title with a dominant performance in
the final event, the 4x400-meter relay. Greenhill's time of
3:21.38 was more than 3 seconds faster than second-place St.
Mark's. Greenhill finished with a total of 161 points. St.
Mark's finished second with 145.5 points.
On the girls side, Greenhill scored 150 points and finished
47 ahead of second-place Hockaday, much of that thanks to the
transcendent performance of April Holliness. The Greenhill
star bested the SPC record in the long jump (19-4), triple
jump (41-0.5) and 100 meters (12.06).
