Kim
Briant set another school record this weekend by pole
vaulting 10'-6" at the Episcopal High School (Houston)
track meet. Briant broke Greenhill's record that she set two
weeks ago when she cleared 10 feet at the Cistercian Relays.
It
was sophomore Mallory Williams who
scored the most points for Greenhill, with 29. Williams, who has
had a break out season, won the 200 meters, in 26 seconds, 17
hundreths, placed 2nd in the 100 meters with a 12.54, ran on the
1st place sprint relay team, earned third in triple jump, and
competed in high jump.
“The
difference between last year and this year is night and day,” Coach
Tom Holodak said. “She has helped put us in a
position to defend our title, along with Kim
Briant and Ashley Wellington.”
Since
last year, Williams, who was placing 15th and 16th at meets, has
dropped a second and a half off her 200 meter time and jumped
three feet further in triple jump, to push her into one of the
top contenders in the Southwest Preparatory Conference.
Greenhill
competes at MISC Championships 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at
Cistercian.
