Greenhill
wins fall classic

On Sept. 27-28 the
Greenhill boys volleyball team hosted the fifth annual Fall
Volleyball Classic. The tournament consisted of teams
from Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Oklahoma and Texas.
The
tournament was a great success with Greenhill finishing first by
defeating Brookfield East from Wisconsin in the finals.
Throughout the two-day tournament, the Hornets served tough, ran
a powerful offense, and played outstanding defense.
Everyone was impressed by Greenhill's level of intensity. The
home crowd witnessed a display of exciting volleyball. The
Greenhill team is looking very solid in preparation for
it's big trip to Canada to compete in the Western Canadian
Challenge in mid-October.
Over
the course of the tournament, Brennan Meier had 127 assists, 15
blocks, and 9 aces. Alex Gutor led all hitters with 54 kills,
while Craig Cardwell added 42. Josh Feldman had 37 kills and 9
blocks. Cardwell contributed 13 blocks and 10 aces. Gutor
had 21 aces, while Brian Dorber had 12. Ben Siegelman led the
defense with 36 digs. Gutor and Jared Scheib each had 24
digs and Dorber had 32.
Josh
Feldman and Alex Gutor were selected to the all-tournament team,
while Brennan Meier was voted MVP of the tournament.
