Greenhill
picks up three wins in Houston
(09/02/02) The Greenhill varsity boys volleyball team had
another successful weekend. The team traveled to Houston to
play St. John's, St. Mary's Hall and Episcopal High School of
Houston. The Hornets finished with a three-match sweep, not
losing a single game.
The squad
beat St. John's 25-11, 25-14, 25-14. Greenhill defeated St.
Mary's Hall 25-5, 25-10, 25-16 and won against EHS 25-7, 25-11,
25-8.
In
all three matches the Hornets’ quick offense and
tenacious defense frustrated the other teams. Greenhill is
much more experienced than the other three teams they played,
and are able to play at a very high level. The teams’ serving
is stellar. Each member of the team is able to jump serve
and record many aces. The Hornets’ high energy level keeps
them excited, and the boys have incorporating new combinations.
