Boys
beat Garland Christian with early lead
(12/14/04)
The Greenhill varsity boys basketball team defeated Garland
Christian 57-27 on Dec. 14, capturing its second-straight win
of the season.
The Hornets
controlled the game against Garland Christian from the start
of the contest. Eleven Greenhill players scored in the game,
including 15 points and nine rebounds from Michael Tobolowsky,
while Hunter Leachman contributed 10 points, 13 rebounds and
four blocked shots.
Greenhill
head coach Jaye Andrews was pleased to see his team build a
lead, offering playing time for other players. " I was glad to
see the guys take control early, and give the players off the
bench significant, and much needed, varsity minutes."
Greenhill
defeated Dallas Life Academy 67-65 on Dec. 11. The Hornets
built a 19-point lead in the third quarter, but DLA made a
furious comeback and took the lead with 2:30 left to play.
Late three-point shots by Willie Woods and Brian Green helped
Greenhill recapture the lead. Charleston Turnley registered 19
points and seven rebounds in the contest, Leachman had 18
points and nine rebounds, and Willie Woods added 17 points.
The Hornets
will play again Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, before playing in a
tournament at Mesquite Poteet on Dec. 29-31.
