Boys Tennis - 2010 SPC CHAMPIONS

The boy’s varsity tennis team captured the #1 seed from the South zone entering the SPC Championship.  Coach Barnard stressed the importance of mental toughness with on – court  activities and invited Greenhill alumni from past championships to assist in motivating the team.

The quarter finals began with Greenhill defeating Tulsa Holland Hall 5-0.  After this match, the team geared up for the semi-final match against long time rival Houston Kinkaid.  Greenhill sealed the victory  3-2 with wins in #3 singles and both doubles lines.  We have been working hard to establish our doubles

strength by combining consistent and aggressive players.  As they say, “a rock and a rock star” says Coach Barnard.

Greenhill shined in the finals against its neighbor St. Mark's with  outstanding performances from top singles players  Aaron Poliak, Jake Golman and Clint Golman.  Both doubles lines claimed victory after three hard fought sets from doubles leader Brady Goldberg, Eshan Kejriwal, Nathan Zhu and Blake Myrin.  Greenhill could never have expected to beat St. Marks 5-0 but the boy’s saved their best for last.

Coach Barnard would like to recognize assistant coach Scott Cotton, Senior Captain Jake Golman,  and the supporting team members for their stellar work this season.
