Coaching Staff: Rebecca Shuman

Head Coach, Girls' Tennis

Rebecca Shuman is the assistant head of the Upper School and the girls varsity tennis coach at Greenhill School.

Coach Shuman started playing tennis at a young age before going on to teach all levels of tennis, including at the University of Wisconsin. She was initially a two-sport athlete and played tennis exclusively her sophomore year of college while attending Drake University and the University of Wisconsin.

Having been a successful junior development coach, with nationally and regionally ranked players throughout the United States, Coach Shuman has an appreciation for players that can surpass all others with their individual talents. However, her joy for the sport comes from synthesizing players with individual athletic talent with others who may have more strategic minds or outlooks. This enables her to put forth a team that is smart, well mannered, appreciative of the game and one that wants to win. Coach Shuman believes coaching tennis at the high school and college level is a privilege and rewarding opportunity.

She is also an active member of the Texas Coaches Association.
