Coaching Staff: Blake
Ware
Head Football Coach
Coach Blake Ware is entering his
third year as Head Football Coach at Greenhill
School.
Previously, he served as Assistant
Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Line
coach at St. Pius X High School in Houston for seven
years. Also, while at St. Pius, Coach Ware served
as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Track Coach
for three years. During his tenure, the Panthers
played in the TAPPS 6A Football State Championship 3
times winning the title in 1999. Prior to coaching
at St. Pius, Coach Ware, was an assistant football
and track coach at St. Thomas High School in
Houston.
Throughout his career in football, he
has coached young people of all ages and various
backgrounds, including six years as a volunteer
coach of youth sports.
Career Highlights:
* Coached the 11th running back in
Texas High School football history to go over 3,000
yards rushing in a single season in 1998.
* Offense broke the state record for
yards in a game with 645 yards in 1999.
* Offense averaged 432 yards a game
in 2002.
* Offense gained over 2,000 yards
rushing and 1,500 yards passing in 2002, 2003, and
2004.
* Coached several players who are
now Division I football players including Alvin
Jordan (2007 Greenhill Graduate), LB, University of
Louisiana - Monroe; Tarance Farmer, DB, University
of Alabama; Ian Symonette, OL, University of Miami;
Chris Harrington, DL, Texas A&M and Yamar
Washington, RB, Indiana University.
