Sveinsson Earns National Title,
Sets National Record

Greenhill freshman Chelsey competed at the Nike Indoor National High School Championship March 14-15 in Landover, Maryland. On Saturday she easily won the freshman girls' mile race in a time of 4:49. Her time registers as the No. 8 all-time finish for freshman girls' indoor or outdoor competition for the 1 mile race. The record is 4:40 held by Mary Decker.  

On Sunday, Chelsey competed in the 800m and ran a time of 2:11. Although it was not her fastest time in the race, it was fast enough to earn her the National Title. Recently, Chelsey posted a time of 2:08.5 in the 800m, which is currently the fastest HS outdoor time in the nation.
