Sveinsson wins mile
championship at Penn Relays

Sveinsson finished in first place in the high school
girls' mile championship race at the Penn Relays,
America's oldest and largest track and
field carnival,
on Thursday, April 23.
Chelsey finished the
race with a time of 4:46.85, nearly 13 seconds ahead of
the 2nd place finisher. Her time is the fastest mile
time by a high school girl in the nation this year. At
this moment she has run the #1 national times in the
1600 meters, mile run, and the 3200 meters.
She will compete
again next week in the Southwest Preparatory Conference
championships being hosted at Greenhill on April 30-May
1, where she will defend her conference titles in the
800, 1600, and 3200 meters.
