Sveinsson sets meet, stadium records at Texas Relays;
earns outstanding female athlete honors
Greenhill sophomore Chelsey
Sveinsson earned outstanding female athlete honors for
the second year in a row at the Texas Relays in Austin
following her repeat championship performance in the
1600 and first-place finish in the 3200 meter race. Chelsey's time of 10:12.11 in
the 3200 race broke a 17-year old Texas Relays and
stadium record by 20 seconds, while being marked as only
her fourth two-mile track race of her upper school
career. According to TrackandFieldNews.com, Chelsey
currently holds the fastest high school time in the
nation in the outdoor 1600 and 3200 meter races.
Greenhill seniors
Andres Ramirez and Travis Stull also competed in the
Texas Relays, with the athletes matching or breaking
school records in their respective events. Andres placed
fifth in the 2000 meter steeplechase setting a school
record of 6:30.76 and Travis matched his best jump and
school record of 14'-6" in the pole vault.
