Sveinsson sets meet, stadium records at Texas Relays; earns outstanding female athlete honors

Greenhill sophomore Chelsey Sveinsson earned outstanding female athlete honors for the second year in a row at the Texas Relays in Austin following her repeat championship performance in the 1600 and first-place finish in the 3200 meter race. Chelsey's time of 10:12.11 in the 3200 race broke a 17-year old Texas Relays and stadium record by 20 seconds, while being marked as only her fourth two-mile track race of her upper school career. According to TrackandFieldNews.com, Chelsey currently holds the fastest high school time in the nation in the outdoor 1600 and 3200 meter races.

Greenhill seniors Andres Ramirez and Travis Stull also competed in the Texas Relays, with the athletes matching or breaking school records in their respective events. Andres placed fifth in the 2000 meter steeplechase setting a school record of 6:30.76 and Travis matched his best jump and school record of 14'-6" in the pole vault.
