Girls' Varsity Basketball wins Trinity Valley Tournament

In the first game of the tournament Greenhill defeated an 11-0 Arlington Grace Prep by the score of 45-43.  Grace Wielebinski led the way with 16 points and Dani Goodman had 10.

In the semifinals Greenhill defeated Trinity Valley.  Dani Goodman led the way with 17 points and Ryley Schlachter had a career high 12 points.

In the finals Greenhill only had 9 players available and trailed Prince of Peace by 9 at the half.  The girls' varsity team fought hard to get back in the game.  Cyerra Holmes steal late in the fourth led to a fast break basket which gave Greenhill the lead with 3 minutes left.  It went back and forth.  Greenhill was trailing by one when Hannah Orth dribbled through a couple of defenders to make a perfect pass right over the defender to Rachel D’Apice who hit the winning lay-up with 5 seconds remaining.

Ryley Schlachter was tournament MVP.  Hannah Orth and Vic Livingston were all tournament.

Earlier in the week, Grace Wielebinski eclipsed the 500 career steal mark, an impressive accomplishment demonstrating her great defensive instincts, and Dani Goodman reached the 1000 point milestone.

Greenhill is currently 9-3.
