Groups are invited to Adopt-A-Bed in the Greenhill Community Garden!

 

Organization Chart

  • Bed size: 3 feet wide X 30 feet long
  • Number of hours: varies between 1 and 3 hours /week/group
  • Planting seasons: Two (Spring and Fall)
  • Tasks involved
  • Planting Cycle: Preparing to plant(turning the soil, adding compost),Planting, Caring (weeding, pest control) and Harvesting
  • Watering: Shared watering schedule means that no group has to come and water every other day and each group can make less frequent trips to water their beds.
  • Maintenance:  Groups must participate in at least 1 fall and 1 spring garden work day to help with general maintenance.
  • Duration of Adoption: One year (two planting seasons) preferred.
  • Donation policy: It is preferred that a portion of the food harvested is donated to the North Texas Food Bank. Groups are welcome to use the rest for their personal use.
  • Tools and seeds are available.
  • Please bring your own gloves and drinking water.
  • Help will be provided to get started.
