NORTHWEST EARTH INSTITUTE
Discussion Courses

The Green Team offers self-lead discussion groups created by the Northwest Earth Institute.  Sessions will be offered in the mornings (immediately after car-pool), after school (for upper and middle school students) and in the evenings.

The Northwest Earth Institute is recognized as a national leader in the development of innovative programs that empower individuals and organizations to protect the Earth. Today, NWEI offers seven study guides for small groups. These self-guided discussion courses are held in workplaces, homes, faith centers, neighborhoods, and community centers throughout the nation.

  • Choices for Sustainable Living
  • Exploring Deep Ecology
  • Discovering a Sense of Place
  • Globalization and Its Critics
  • Healthy Children-Healthy Planet
  • Global Warming: Changing Course
  • Voluntary Simplicity

NWEI offers programs that encourage participants to explore their values, attitudes, and actions through discussion with other people. These programs are organized around three key principles:

  • An earth-centered ethic promoting individual responsibility for the earth.
  • The practice of engaged simplicity to enrich life and reduce personal impact on the earth.

  • A dedication to living fully in place and protecting the unique bio-region in which you live.”   © Northwest Earth Institute.
