E-RECYCLING

Every year, the Green Team plans an e-recycling drive to provide an avenue for Greenhill and surrounding communities to dispose off their toxic e-waste such as Monitors ($3 fee), Televisions ($25 fee), PC Systems, Computer servers, Networking equipment, Printers, Copy Machines, Scanners, Computer Components and Peripherals, Digital Cameras/Camcorders, VCR/VCD/DVD Players, MP3 Players, PDAs, Cell phones, Phones and Batteries. You can help create a greener environment by keeping toxic waste potentially out of the landfill. Your help in spreading the word within and beyond the Greenhill community is very much required.

  • On April 14th 2007, we recycled 13,285 pounds of electronic waste, including 125 monitors, 73 printers, and 149 computers.  That is more than 6.5 tons of toxic waste saved from the landfill!  With 12 volunteers working the 3-hour drive, 145 cars from Greenhill and the larger community brought their electronic “trash” to us.
  • On February 2nd 2008, we recycled 6000 pounds including 70 computers and 72 monitors plus about 2300 pounds of printers and other misc. items. 60 cars stopped by. Many thanks to the following volunteers:

Adults: Phillipa Anderson, Jeff Bode, Rusty Jaggers
Students: Kelly Drumm, Ryan Kline, Dhiren Parbhoo,

          Dianne Weinthal, Elif Yuce

and the staff of ACES Recycling
