MS students list their holiday favorites

The air is a little crisper, the smiles are more abundant, and houses are covered top to bottom in lights. What does this mean? The holidays are just around the corner.  Many members of the Greenhill community love the holiday season.

“I like the holidays because of the music, food, being with my family, and the long breaks,” seventh grader Carolyn Andrew said.

The weather is not the only thing that shows that holidays are coming.

“In classes the teachers are nicer. They never give us as much homework, and we can get away with more in classes because no one seems to care as much,” eighth grader Jack Beckwitt said. Classes are not the only things that ease up in favor of the holidays; fashion seems to take a little vacation of its own. “The holidays are a really good excuse to not care how you look when you come to school. You can walk through the school doors with pajamas and a huge sweatshirt and people won’t care at all,” eighth grader Margaux Fritz said,

Many students take advantage of the two-week break from school and travel. Middle School students will visit places such as California, Colorado, and Europe. Eight grader Avery Rape mixes travel with tradition during Christmas when she travels to Colorado with her family to ski. Other traditions include eating Chinese food on Christmas Eve, which is a tradition celebrated by eigth grader Dianne Weinthal
