Raising the Bar: Track team looks to underclassmen for current, future success

The girls’ track team has won six Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) Division I Championships over the past eight years, and this year’s team has no intent of slowing down this season despite its large percentage of underclassmen.

“At practice, we are all separated depending on which events we compete in so for each event or group, there must be that one girl who is willing to step up and set an example,” said junior captain Jordan McCray. “In most cases that one girl is going to have to be one of the younger ones because we don’t have as many upperclassmen.”
