Demystifying the 35mm Camera
with Frank Lopez
Ever wonder what makes a good photographic image? The reasons why certain images are considered works of art versus snap shots? This basic photographic course is designed to help with exposure, focus, composition and the content of great imagemaking. Students will photograph weekly assignments and conduct in class critiques of color prints photographed with film. Lectures will be conducted over current and historical photographers as well as examples from Frank Lopez' personal collection.
Sessions: Five, 2-hour meetings
When: February 26, March 4, 11 & 25, April 1
Day and Time: Tuesdays, 6-8 p.m.

Frank Lopez is an editorial, corporate and former society wedding photographer. He has taught at the college and professional workshop level and is in his second year at Greenhill. Frank is currently in production of a portfolio from his summer trip to Vietnam and will be traveling to China in the coming year. His work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and in Japan, and is held in numerous private collections. Frank works primarily with alternative shooting techniques; utilizing pinhole photography, historical cameras and toy cameras.
