Spanish Conversation
with Edith Dulles-Lawlis
“Motor,” “superior,” canal,” “oriental”—these are only four of the army of words that are the same in Spanish as they are in English. You only need to learn to pronounce them with Spanish flair.
The Spanish Conversation class will focus on speaking to others and communicating in Spanish. There will be a few grammar rules, but the emphasis will be on making sense in a conversation as you use present, past, and future tenses.
You will speak Spanish exclusively for one hour, take a 15 minute break, and speak Spanish again for the second hour. You'll be surprised how quickly the new language will come to you, particularly if you spend time on the assignments between classes.
It has been said mastery of a new language adds “plasticity” to the brain. And, it feels great to show others that you care enough to learn their tongue.
